T-shirt: Kettlewell (I may slightly have this in three colours)
Trousers: Heyday
Sneakers: Aldo (old, but virtually identical to these)
Necklace: (old, but I am rather liking this fluoro alternative)
Gold bangle: Groovelines at Covent Garden
Leather cuff: Elliot Rhodes (only available in store)
You know what? I really rather like this outfit. I didn't actually put it on particularly intending to do an outfit post, but I haven't done one for a while, and it gives me a chance to witter on about two of my favourite companies.
And did you notice that the fluoro orange lipstick and the t-shirt are more or less a perfect match? It makes me happy.
Kettlewell tops are just brilliant - not only do they wash and wear almost indefinitely (I have tops purchased just after I first had my colours done four years ago that still have great colour and shape), but they helpfully divide up their collection by season so you can find the colours that work for you very easily if you've had an analysis. I am particularly loving this new asymmetric t-shirt, perfect for my body shape and style. It's hard for me to talk about how much I rate their stuff without sounding like they pay me (which they do, as it happens - I get a small commission for customer orders, but only from my clients, so I'm not being paid to tell the rest of you about it, honest!), but really, they're lovely clothes at sensible prices that are more or less indestructable. Other favourites for me this season are the long camisoles (finally! I love a good long vest) and the sleeveless tunics, likely to become part of my camping capsule wardrobe this summer.
An on to the trousers. Ooh, I love these trousers. Heyday is a company that produces repro vintage clothing, and these wide legged trousers are just amazing. Flattering on lots of body shapes and with enough structure to function as work trousers, but comfortable enough to wear on an off-duty day too. They come in enough colours that there's a pair for every season, too. Plus Shona, who owns and runs Heyday, is literally one of the nicest people ever - I was lucky enough to meet her last year (thanks to my sister) and she is just a sweetheart. Plus she's had her colours done and was prepared to chat at length about it, which is always a winner in my world. My trousers are chocolate brown, and have been washed and dried repeatedly with no signs of wear so far.
Can you tell that the ability to throw things in the wash repeatedly is important in this house? The joys of small children with a penchant for 'helping' in the kitchen...
