The House of Colour fashion update. Idiot proof style.
So I know that style is king (in my world at least), but as I said only yesterday, knowing what's in fashion, and therefore available in the shops does make it rather easier to help express that style.
And given my innate laziness when it comes for following up to the minute high fashion - I'm more than happy to sit down with a coffee and Red or Easy Living, but don't ask me to start tuning in to the London Fasihon Week hashtag on twitter - the Fashion Update that lands in my inbox twice a year thanks to those genius folk up at House of Colour head office is an extremely welcome - and idiot-proof - way to tap into the latest looks.
The Fashion Update contains the key looks of the season (there are five this season) drawn straight from the catwalk shows by our front row experts, and those looks are divided up by clothing personality (which means the report is only available to clients who have completed their Personal Style Class), so is tailored to the styles that each of us can actually do (all the fashion updates in the world, for instance, are not giong to make this season's delicate, feminine, just-rolled-out-of-bed-in-my-boudoir look work for me. It would just be frightening).
Each section of the Fashion Update report contains not only catwalk photos, but handy line drawings to show us mere mortals exactly what's going on in those catwalk shots. As well as the photos and drawings, each 'look' has examples of prints and a page of accessories ideas - both of these are quite useful in that they can be used not only to add impact to an overall look, but can be mixed in with other clothes to give a nod to a particular trend without going overboard, which works rather well for the less extreme among us. Simples.
The Fashion Update is one of the bonus extras that I didn't know or care about when I first became a client of House of Colour (it's up there with 'finding the right red lipstick for me' in things that I didn't particularly care about, but which have immeasurably improved my life), but it's another thing that makes getting shopping and getting dressed in the morning even easier, more idiot proof, and more confidence-inducing, no matter how cool the people I'm going to be spending the day with might be.
House of Colour clients can purchase the Fashion Update directly from their own consultant. If you want to be able to use the world's most idiot-proof fashion guide, you'll need to contact me or find your nearest consultant, and get booked in for a colour and style analysis pronto.
